Fragile Humanity

Pale peach has seems to be a popular color this spring, so I decided I may as well jump on the bandwagon and franken one up! I also tried to tie in the Twilight/vampire theme again for all you fans, so hopefully you like it!

I used a shimmery sheer white Revlon Colorstay (the bottom label was missing so I am unsure of the name, Wet ‘N Wild French White Cream, and Taylor Made pigment in High Lite.

I poured half each of the two whites into an empty bottle, then mixed in 1/2 teaspoon of High Lite pigment. This one required a LOT of shaking for the pigment to blend in, but it was worth the workout!

I was afraid this wouldn’t look good on me since I am so pale, but I really like it! It is smooth and “clean” looking.

Sparkles & Fangs

Hello franken-friends…I’m back!

I’ve had quite a few requests for “vampire themed/Twilight themed” frankens, so I went ahead and used one of my awesome new Franken Juggs from Manglaze to make one.

I used Jade Twinkling Purple, Sally Hansen Red Awakening, Orly Love Each Other, and Sally Hansen Glossy.

I filled the bottle with 1/3 each of Love Each Other and Twinkling Purple, then added 1/4 of Glossy, followed by about 20 drops of Red Awakening.

‘Tis sparkley! Just like vampires! Errr, well, certain vampires at least. LOL.

I admit I was a bit intimidated by the Franken Jugg. It’s quite different looking than a typical polish bottle, but I found the cap design didn’t hinder my application of the polish at all. In fact, my mani actually came out GREAT and required zero cleanup. I was quite pleased with the brush as well, so ManGlaze really has a winner with these! And my favorite part?

Look at the mouth on that baby! So much easier for adding polish/pigments/glitter into the jugg. Even when I use my little paper funnels with normal polish bottles, I still make a huge mess…this really will be beneficial! Just be careful not to knock it over

Wicked awesome mail day!

Hi everyone!
Thank you for all the kind comments and emails…it really means a lot to me that you actually miss my franken posts!
My nails are healing a bit, and I have made a bunch of new frankens that I will have up soon. But I absolutely HAD to show you all the goodies I got in the mail today!

First of all, let me just tell you that as a polish-oriented blogger, I’ve never received polishes from a company. I know many bloggers get promotional samples to try out, but I would never expect to receive promo polishes because of the nature of my blog…I’m just a crazy polish mixing fool! And to be honest, I’ve never been that good at describing colors/finishes/etc and don’t fancy myself much of an interesting writer. So you can imagine my surprise that I received a package in the mail from ManGlaze! Marc, the owner of the company, had sent me a message on Twitter asking for my address, and I figured it was probably for a mailing list or something.

But low and behold, look what came today.

Hot Mess, which is a sparkley silver matte…and Matte is Murder, a shimmery matte black. I adore the art on the bottles, and ManGlaze really has some amazing mattes!

But that’s not all. I received three “Franken Juggs”, too! Let the pictures do the talking…

Yes…those are empty franken bottles! Look at the labels!

I LOVE the artwork on these…I want the franken-lady as a life sized cutout!

Update!

Hi franken-friends!
I’ve been super busy lately, and had an unfortunate nail accident. Booo!
My nails are realllllllllly short right now, and it makes me uncomfortable just looking at them. So I am going to take a little blog vacation until they grow out a bit more. I’ve also got a ton of things to work on around my house, and now that the weather is warming up, I have some gardening to do!

End of the Rainbow

Happy St. Patty’s Day! Of course I have a green to show you today!

For this one, I used Pure Ice Heartbreaker, OPI Sonic Bloom, and Art Deco in black.

I filled an empty bottle half full of Sonic Bloom, and added 1/4 each of Heartbreaker and black.

You can really see how vibrant the green is in this!

I wish I could capture just how glowy this looks in real life!

I really love this one a lot…not just because it is green, but it has a beautiful color shift that catches your eye in the sun!
